Seven accomplished industry leaders and public servants have joined the SAE Foundation Board of Trustees for three-year terms. These seven new members bring a great deal of diversity and insight to the SAE Foundation as they represent a variety of private and public sector organizations.
The SAE Foundation is pleased to announce that the Toyota USA Foundation has pledged $200,000 to bring together teachers, students and STEM professionals for hands-on, project-based learning through SAE International’s A World In Motion®.
The decline of students enrolling in science and technology programs is threatening the country’s ability to meet future workforce demands and present repercussions that will be felt for generations to come. SAE International’s award-winning A World In Motion® (AWIM) program, provides high-quality science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education programming to students in grades K-8.
The SAE Foundation, along with support from General Motors and the GM Foundation, will bring together corporate and foundation leaders on Thursday, July 24 at TechTown Detroit from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. for an interactive discussion about providing effective, impactful STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programming to Detroit students.
